Northern Lights Community HOA Newsletter

October 2024

We hope you are all enjoying this beautiful Fall weather. As the weather changes, so do the activities

here at Heron Lakes. First of all, thank you to all of you who participated in the Block parties this

summer. We hosted three parties, within the various neighborhoods. We had a good turn out and

thoroughly enjoyed meeting all of you that attended. We received great feedback about hosting

multiple events and holding them in different areas of Northern Lights to accommodate all. We had an

average of 40 people come out for each one, which is success in our book. The block parties are meant

to be a casual, fun and easy way to meet new neighbors and friends. Can’t wait to bring them back next

summer!

Our HOA community continues to grow. We currently have 95 houses within our Northern Lights

neighborhood and expect that number to increase to over 100 in the coming months.

HOA Services Update

Lawn Maintenance:

Mill Brothers has stopped mowing lawns for the winter months. Service will resume in the Spring.

They have also completed blowouts of all the sprinkler/irrigation systems. If you have any outstanding

issues, please contact the HOA board so we can help reconcile any problems. We also urge you to unplug

hoses from your homes to prevent possible freezing issues.

Snow Removal:

We will be working with Mill Brothers in the coming weeks to establish the criteria for snow removal for

the upcoming season. With an increase in the number of homes we want to understand how Mill

Brothers will accommodate the higher volume.

Trash Service:

The Metro District mandated that trash removal within all of Heron Lakes is only permitted on Friday’s.

Consequently, we have been working on getting an exclusive contract with Step Up Disposal, a local

company headquartered in Loveland. Our goal is to have Step Up service every homeowner within the

Northern Lights HOA and to have our HOA dues cover the cost. We are waiting on final numbers to see if

this is possible, and will bring it to a vote during the upcoming homeowners meeting.

Safety:

Although there is no date set to close the entrance gates, cameras have been installed on both

entrances. The issue is still being addressed by the Metro District and the Town of Berthoud.

Social Activities:

Please plan on joining the 3rd annual neighborhood Halloween party on October 31st in front of 3225

Danzante Bay Ct. Everyone is welcome to join in on the fun of a bounce house and chili prior to the kids

heading out to trick-or-trick. Bring your favorite chili to share and drink of choice. Bowls, spoons, plates

etc. are provided. Festivities start at 4:30

Please be sure to mark your calendars and plan to join us for the Annual Christmas party. We will be

hosting this years HOA party at the Clubhouse on December 18th. Invitations will be sent shortly.

It’s crazy to think the Holidays are almost here but we look forward to celebrating with all of you.

As always, please feel free to contact any of the Board Members if you have question and/or concern.

We are here to help.

Taylor, Jon, Laura, Dina and Vicki

Blog Post Title Two

It all begins with an idea.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
